The D line, explained
On a classic Pictionary card the D line is Difficult. It is the line that decides most adult games, and the one many families score double. The generator above builds a full five-word card and rolls the die; when the roll shows D, the drawer uses the word on this line. Every word in the bank carries a letter, so the 3030 words below are exactly what the D line is drawn from: the lion king, coco, jurassic park in the easy tier, the matrix, titanic, jaws in the medium tier and narwhal, axolotl, pangolin in the hard tier.
How to draw difficult words
Draw the phrase literally, one word at a time, with a row of dashes for the word count so the guessers know how much is coming. Abstract ideas are a face plus a cause. House rules for the D line
D counts double is the most common house rule in the game; a stricter one lets the drawer skip one D per game. The rules guide lists the official scoring and the popular variations; the printable page puts cards with all five lines on paper.
