Valentine’s Day Pictionary words, kid-safe first

This page runs the Pictionary word generator with the Holiday menu set to Valentine’s Day: about 65 words in the safe pool and a handful more with the Adults audience on. The set is built in two layers on purpose. The default layer is the class-party version, all shapes and symbols: heart-shaped box, cupid, valentine card, box of chocolates, red roses, candy hearts, teddy bear, lovebirds. The medium tier adds the phrases (arrow through the heart, x’s and o’s, roses are red, “be mine”) and the funny ones (heart-shaped pizza, love at first bite). The adults layer is dating and relationships, still clean: first date, blind date, long-distance relationship, Galentine’s Day, single on Valentine’s Day. None of it appears until you switch the audience to Adults.

    Class parties

Valentine’s Pictionary is the easy half of a February class party: no pieces, no prep, and every word is one the class already knows from the cards they just exchanged. Kids audience, Easy difficulty, this page in Fullscreen on the projector, and two teams drawing on the whiteboard. Younger years draw in pairs with a 90-second timer; older classes take Medium at the official 60 seconds. Set the rule up front that letters, numbers and gestures are not allowed while drawing, because x’s and o’s will test it. For a school that keeps the day low-key, the set has no kissing beyond the word kiss itself and nothing about dating, so it plays as a friendship game. The kids page and the classroom page have more whole-class formats.

    Couples’ game night

Switch the audience to Adults and the pool becomes a game for two or four. The best rule for couples is Words per turn set to 3: the drawer sees three words and picks the one their partner is most likely to guess, which tells you more about a relationship than the drawing does. With two couples, partners draw for each other and the other couple keeps score on the scoreboard under the card. Turn on Funny words only for the round that ends the night: heart-shaped pizza, single on Valentine’s Day, love at first bite. The adults page has more small-group formats, and the funny page has the site-wide comedy set if you want to leave the holiday behind.

    Galentine’s and anti-Valentine’s

For a Galentine’s party the Adults set already has Galentine’s Day, breakup, love triangle and single on Valentine’s Day, which is most of the evening’s subject matter. Play it as one big team against the timer instead of two teams against each other: the group scores a point for every word guessed inside 60 seconds and tries to beat its own total each round. It suits a room where nobody wants to lose to anyone.

    Rounds to try

    • Symbols only. Easy tier, 30-second timer: cupid, bouquet, engagement ring, heart eyes, love letter. Fast and fair for the smallest players.
    • Sayings round. The medium-tier phrases (roses are red, be mine, x’s and o’s) must be guessed word for word.
    • Romance movies. Switch the category to Movies & TV with the Adults audience and draw the posters; the movies list has the titles.
    • Classic card. Classic card mode turns the set into five-word Valentine cards with letters, including All Play, where every team draws secret admirer at once.

    Other February and spring sets

The Holiday menu above switches the pool without leaving the page: St. Patrick’s Day for March, Easter & Spring after that, or All holidays for a mixed seasonal game. The holiday hub lists every set, and the printable page turns this one into cut-out cards.

    Frequently asked questions

What are good Valentine’s Day Pictionary words?

Easy: heart-shaped box, cupid, valentine card, red roses, candy hearts, teddy bear. Medium: arrow through the heart, candlelit dinner, holding hands, roses are red. Funny: heart-shaped pizza, love at first bite, and for adults single on Valentine’s Day.

Is the Valentine’s set safe for a class party?

Yes, by default. With the Kids or Everyone audience the pool is hearts, cupid, cards, candy and valentine’s box at school. The dating words (first date, blind date, breakup, love triangle, honeymoon) are tagged adults-only and never appear unless you switch the audience to Adults. The classroom page has whole-class formats.

Is the adults set actually clean?

Yes. The Adults audience adds dating and relationship words, not anything explicit: long-distance relationship, Galentine’s Day, single on Valentine’s Day. It is written for a couples’ game night or a Galentine’s party where a grandparent could walk in.

How do you play Pictionary as a couple?

Set Words per turn to 3 so the drawer picks the word their partner is most likely to guess, take turns drawing, and keep the timer at 60 seconds. With two couples it becomes a proper team game: partners draw for each other and the other couple keeps score. The adults page has more two-to-six-player formats.

Is there a printable Valentine’s Pictionary list?

The printable page has a Valentine’s option that prints the words as cut-out cards, and they fit inside a standard valentine envelope. Or press Copy list under the generator after a game to paste the words you used.
