Easter Pictionary words for an egg-hunt crowd
This page runs the Pictionary word generator with the Holiday menu set to Easter & Spring: about 76 words in the safe pool, written for the people who actually play Easter Pictionary, which is mostly children with sugar in them. The easy tier is the iconography a six-year-old can draw and a grandparent can guess (Easter egg, Easter bunny, baby chick, jelly beans, chocolate bunny, bunny ears). The medium tier is the traditions (egg dyeing, sunrise service, Easter parade, egg-and-spoon race, bunny hop) and, with Funny words only on, the true stories of the day: chocolate all over your face, the egg you never found, Easter grass everywhere. The Kids audience is the right default here; the Adults audience adds spring break and Easter brunch for a grown-up table.
Running it at a church or family lunch
The moment for Easter Pictionary is after lunch, when the hunt is over and the children are vibrating. Two teams, a pad of paper or a whiteboard, and this page on a phone with Hide the word until tapped on so it can be passed from drawer to drawer. Sixty seconds is the official timer; for a table with a lot of under-eights, 90 seconds and drawing in pairs keeps every turn a success. Use the scoreboard under the card, and let the children keep score so they stay in the game between turns. For a mixed-age church hall, put the page on a big screen in Fullscreen and have the guessing team face away from it. Rounds to try
- Bunny ears rule. Every drawing must have bunny ears on it, whether it is a daffodil or a hot cross bun. It changes nothing and improves everything.
- Egg round. Only the egg words: hidden egg, plastic egg, nest of eggs, egg dyeing, egg roll. Thirty-second timer, because they all start the same way.
- Farm and spring. Alternate a turn from this set with a turn from the animals list (lamb, duck, rabbit, chicken) for a longer game with the same feel.
- Parents’ round. Audience on Adults, Funny switch on, and let the grown-ups draw spring allergies and bunny costume while the children guess.
- Classic card. Switch to Classic card mode and each card becomes a five-word Easter card with letters, so it plays like the box game.
Spring classroom parties
For a class party, the Kids audience with Easy difficulty and a projector fills half an hour with no prep beyond a whiteboard marker. Younger classes draw in pairs; older ones can take Medium and a 45-second timer. If the school keeps holidays secular, this set still works: about a third of it is plain spring (daffodil, rain shower, blooming flowers, garden planting, baby birds, umbrella season), and the Easter words are eggs and bunnies rather than anything religious. It covers spring, not only Easter
The set is called Easter & Spring because the two are hard to separate: spring cleaning, first rain shower and spring break belong to the season, not the holiday. So it works from the first daffodil to the end of May.
